Sr Sales Representative - C&I Utilities

Overview

As a Senior Sales Representative on our Energy & Sustainability team within the Honeywell Building Solutions organization, you will become a catalyst for change in the commercial and industrial (C&I) utilities market. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the sales of cutting-edge energy solutions and distributed energy resources (DERs), driving Utilities Non-Wires Alternatives (NWA), grid modernization, and enhancing resiliency for our clients. Honeywell is a Fortune 100 leader in innovative technologies, and you'll play a key role in helping utilities and large energy consumers achieve sustainability goals while reducing costs and improving operational efficiency. This hybrid position offers flexibility to balance client-facing work with collaboration from Honeywell's state-of-the-art facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, and close complex sales opportunities with C&I utilities, targeting multi-million-dollar deals for energy management systems, DERs, and NWA projects.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to penetrate key utility accounts, identifying opportunities for grid modernization and resiliency enhancements.
  • Conduct technical demonstrations and ROI analyses to showcase Honeywell's solutions, translating complex energy data into compelling business cases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and channel partners, to deliver customized proposals and ensure seamless project handoffs.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with utility decision-makers, positioning Honeywell as the preferred partner for sustainable energy transitions.
  • Track market trends in renewables, microgrids, and demand response programs to inform sales strategies and achieve quarterly/annual quotas.
  • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to influence product roadmap development.

  • Deep knowledge of utility regulations, Non-Wires Alternatives, and grid resiliency programs (experience)
  • Experience with CRM tools like Salesforce and sales forecasting methodologies (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Engineering (experience)
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) (experience)
  • Prior experience in renewables, microgrids, or demand-side management sales (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within C&I utilities, focusing on DERs and NWA solutions to meet sales targets
  • Lead consultative sales cycles, from needs assessment to contract negotiation and deal closure
  • Perform financial modeling and ROI presentations to justify investments in energy efficiency and resiliency projects
  • Partner with technical teams to design tailored solutions for grid modernization and sustainability initiatives
