Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of supplier manufacturing processes for mechanical and electronics components, identifying productivity bottlenecks and cost drivers.
  • Develop and implement value engineering initiatives, including design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews and should-cost modeling to achieve 10-20% cost reductions.
  • Lead supplier audits, kaizen events, and continuous improvement workshops to standardize best practices across the supply base.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, quality, and engineering, to negotiate productivity improvements and resolve performance issues.
  • Utilize advanced analytics tools and lean six sigma methodologies to monitor KPIs such as yield rates, cycle times, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Drive supplier development programs, providing technical guidance on process optimizations for high-volume production.
  • Report progress to senior leadership through executive dashboards and contribute to strategic sourcing decisions.

  • 5+ years of experience in supplier productivity improvement, value engineering, or manufacturing cost reduction within aerospace, electronics, or industrial sectors (experience)
  • Proven track record working with Mechanical and Electronics manufacturing technologies and associated cost structures (experience)
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and supplier auditing methodologies (experience)
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP) (experience)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration (experience)
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace supply chain or high-precision electronics manufacturing (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze supplier cost structures and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for productivity gains and cost savings
  • Lead value analysis and should-cost modeling for mechanical and electronics components to optimize total cost of ownership
  • Facilitate supplier workshops and kaizen events to implement lean improvements and standardize processes
  • Collaborate with procurement, quality assurance, and design engineering teams to resolve supplier performance issues
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier productivity using advanced analytics and reporting tools
  • Mentor junior engineers and support supplier development programs for strategic vendors
  • Prepare and present productivity improvement reports to senior management and stakeholders
