Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and implementing lean manufacturing processes to improve production efficiency and reduce waste in assembly lines.
  • Support the development and testing of manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and automation equipment for precision components.
  • Analyze production data using statistical methods to identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers and quality assurance, to ensure manufacturability of new product introductions (NPI).
  • Participate in root cause analysis for manufacturing defects using tools like Six Sigma DMAIC methodology.
  • Document engineering changes and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for compliance with industry standards such as AS9100.
  • Conduct time-motion studies and simulate production workflows using software like Siemens Process Simulate.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (experience)
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, or assembly automation (experience)
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and manufacturing simulation tools (experience)
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) (experience)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis tools like Excel or Minitab (experience)
  • Availability for hybrid work including on-site presence at international manufacturing sites (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (experience)
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment (experience)
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Manufacturing (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize manufacturing processes to enhance throughput and yield using value stream mapping
  • Develop and validate production tooling and work instructions for new product launches
  • Perform failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to mitigate risks in production
  • Lead small-scale process improvement projects under supervision, targeting cost reduction
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams to qualify vendors and ensure component manufacturability
  • Conduct equipment qualification and validation per IQ/OQ/PQ protocols
  • Generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) like OEE and first-pass yield
