Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, executing, and monitoring engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Support the design and development of system architectures using tools like AutoCAD, MATLAB, and Siemens engineering software.
  • Conduct technical analyses, risk assessments, and feasibility studies for automation and control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and field operations, to integrate project deliverables.
  • Prepare detailed project documentation, progress reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Participate in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of industrial systems to optimize performance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Strong academic record with GPA 3.0+ (or equivalent) (experience)
  • Basic understanding of project management principles (PMP or Agile basics preferred) (experience)
  • Familiarity with engineering design tools and software (experience)
  • Availability for 6-12 month internship commitment (experience)
  • Legal eligibility to work internationally (visa sponsorship not available) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in engineering projects (experience)
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) or PLC programming (experience)
  • Knowledge of industry standards (ISO 9001, IEC 61511) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project schedules using MS Project or Primavera, tracking milestones and dependencies
  • Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and modeling for system optimization in automation projects
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure materials and ensure compliance with specifications
  • Analyze project data to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Support on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of control systems and instrumentation
  • Document lessons learned and contribute to post-project reviews for process improvements
  • Assist in preparing technical bids, RFQs, and cost estimates for new project opportunities
