Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for hardware and software stages in aerospace systems, including environmental, vibration, and functional testing.
  • Analyze test data using statistical methods and simulation tools to identify defects, optimize performance, and recommend design improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, quality assurance, and project managers, to integrate test requirements into product development lifecycles.
  • Develop automated test scripts and harnesses using tools like LabVIEW, Python, or MATLAB to streamline testing processes and reduce cycle times.
  • Lead root cause analysis for test failures, implementing corrective actions and documenting findings in detailed reports compliant with industry standards such as DO-160 and AS9100.
  • Support stage-gate reviews by providing test data, risk assessments, and validation evidence to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in test methodologies and lab infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in test engineering, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors (experience)
  • Proven experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, environmental chambers, and vibration analysis (experience)
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-810, or ISO 26262 (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools and data acquisition systems (experience)
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical analysis and failure mode analysis (FMEA) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as Certified Test Engineer (CTE) or Six Sigma Green Belt (experience)
  • Experience with real-time embedded systems testing in aerospace applications (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate test procedures for all stages of product lifecycle, from prototype to production
  • Perform rigorous testing including thermal cycling, shock, and EMI/EMC compliance verification
  • Utilize advanced instrumentation like oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and accelerometers for precise measurements
  • Conduct data-driven root cause investigations using tools like Minitab or JMP
  • Integrate test results into digital twin models and simulation environments for predictive analysis
  • Ensure test processes meet regulatory and customer requirements for airworthiness certification
  • Drive efficiency improvements by automating test sequences and reducing setup times
