SU Operations Miscellaneous Machine Operator
Overview

In this critical role, you will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot miscellaneous machinery within our Sensors and Utilities (SU) operations, ensuring seamless production of high-precision components for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of miscellaneous machines including CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and assembly equipment to produce precision parts meeting Honeywell's stringent quality standards.
- Perform routine setup, calibration, and changeovers on machines to minimize downtime and maximize production throughput.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Monitor machine operations, interpret gauges and digital readouts, and make real-time adjustments to maintain tolerances within microns.
- Record production data, perform quality checks using precision measuring tools, and document non-conformances for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues and implement process enhancements.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, and participate in lean manufacturing events to drive efficiency.

- Experience with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and CMMs (experience)
- Strong understanding of safety standards (OSHA) and lean manufacturing principles (experience)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced production setting (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in CNC programming or machine operation (e.g., NIMS credentials) (experience)
- Experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing industries (experience)
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems for production tracking (experience)
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate miscellaneous machines including mills, lathes, and grinders to fabricate complex parts from raw materials
- Perform tool changes, program basic CNC cycles, and adjust feeds/speeds for optimal efficiency and part quality
- Inspect finished components using precision instruments and ensure compliance with Honeywell quality specifications
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on machines to reduce unplanned downtime
- Maintain accurate production logs, track material usage, and report metrics for KPI achievement
- Participate in 5S and Kaizen events to improve workplace organization and process flow
- Train junior operators and collaborate cross-functionally to support production schedules
