Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the safe and accurate installation of residential electric meters, adhering to Honeywell standards, local electrical codes, and utility regulations.
  • Conduct thorough safety inspections, toolbox talks, and risk assessments to maintain a zero-incident workplace.
  • Train and mentor team members on best practices for meter installation, troubleshooting, and advanced smart metering technologies.
  • Manage inventory, tools, and equipment, ensuring optimal utilization and reporting on material needs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, utility partners, and clients to resolve issues and deliver high-quality results.

  • Valid journeyperson electrician license or equivalent certification in Ontario (e.g., 442A or 309A) (experience)
  • Proven supervisory experience leading field installation teams (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), ESA standards, and utility meter installation protocols (experience)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Orillia region (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in utility metering or building automation installations (experience)
  • Honeywell or competitor product certifications (e.g., smart meter programming) (experience)
  • WHMIS, Fall Protection, and Confined Space training (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a crew in the precise installation and commissioning of residential electric meters, ensuring 100% compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Perform quality control checks, troubleshoot electrical issues, and calibrate metering devices for optimal performance
  • Coordinate with utility providers and homeowners to schedule installations and minimize disruptions
  • Enforce Honeywell's safety protocols, conduct daily audits, and investigate incidents for continuous improvement
  • Track project progress using mobile apps and report KPIs such as installation rates and downtime to senior forepersons
  • Mentor junior technicians on advanced techniques like AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) deployment
  • Manage logistics including vehicle assignments, tool maintenance, and supply requisitions
