Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop system architectures for aerospace and industrial applications, integrating hardware, software, and firmware components.
  • Implement system requirements using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools like Cameo Systems Modeler or DOORS.
  • Conduct system integration, verification, and validation testing to ensure compliance with DO-178C, DO-254, and ARP4754A standards.
  • Manage system lifecycle processes, from requirements analysis to deployment and sustainment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, and quality engineers to resolve technical issues.
  • Perform risk assessments and mitigation planning for complex systems.
  • Document system designs, test results, and compliance reports for regulatory submissions.

  • Familiarity with systems engineering standards such as INCOSE or ISO 15288 (experience)
  • Experience with requirements management tools like IBM DOORS or Jama Connect (experience)
  • Basic knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulation (experience)
  • Ability to obtain security clearance if required for specific projects (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline (experience)
  • INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) certification (experience)
  • Experience with avionics systems or embedded software development (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and translate customer requirements into verifiable system specifications using structured methodologies
  • Develop and maintain system models using SysML and MBSE practices to support design traceability
  • Lead integration and testing activities, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations and environmental testing
  • Perform failure modes, effects, and criticality analysis (FMECA) to enhance system reliability
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve interface issues and optimize system performance
  • Support certification and qualification processes for airborne systems
  • Generate technical documentation, including system design descriptions and test plans
