Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain system architectures, requirements, and interface specifications for aerospace and industrial control systems.
  • Perform system-level modeling, simulation, and analysis using tools like MATLAB/Simulink or SysML to validate design integrity.
  • Lead integration and testing activities, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and system verification against DO-178C and DO-254 standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and firmware engineers, to resolve technical issues and optimize system performance.
  • Conduct risk assessments, trade studies, and failure modes effects analysis (FMEA) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support product lifecycle management from concept through deployment, including documentation and customer handoff.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or industrial automation sectors (experience)
  • Proven experience with systems engineering processes, including requirements management using tools like DOORS or Polarion (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with system integration, verification, and validation (V&V) methodologies (experience)
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, or ISO 26262 (experience)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field (experience)
  • INCOSE certification (e.g., CSEP) or equivalent (experience)
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and tools like Cameo Systems Modeler (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and architect complex embedded systems, defining interfaces and performance requirements
  • Develop system models and simulations to predict behavior and support design decisions
  • Lead system integration efforts, troubleshooting issues across hardware, software, and firmware domains
  • Execute verification and validation testing, including environmental and functional testing
  • Perform trade studies and risk analyses to optimize system design for cost, weight, and reliability
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure traceability throughout the development lifecycle
  • Document system designs, test results, and compliance evidence for certification and customer reviews
