Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect complex systems by translating customer requirements into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with industry standards and Honeywell's quality protocols.
  • Implement and integrate system components using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools, performing simulations and validations to optimize performance.
  • Manage system lifecycle processes, including requirements management, risk assessment, and configuration control, to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in troubleshooting and resolving system-level issues, applying root cause analysis techniques like FMEA and DMAIC.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and firmware engineers to ensure seamless system integration and compliance with safety-critical standards such as DO-178C and ISO 26262.
  • Conduct system testing, verification, and validation activities, generating comprehensive reports and documentation for regulatory submissions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by incorporating emerging technologies like AI/ML and IoT into system designs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution (experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, with a focus on complex system design and integration in aerospace, industrial, or automation sectors (experience)
  • Proven track record of working with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeler, or MATLAB/Simulink (experience)
  • Experience with safety-critical systems and standards like ARP4754A, DO-178C, or MIL-STD-498 (experience)
  • Strong problem-solving skills demonstrated in multi-disciplinary team environments (experience)
  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances or certifications as required by projects (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field (experience)
  • INCOSE certification (e.g., CSEP or ASEP) (experience)
  • Experience with digital twins, AI/ML integration, or IoT in systems engineering (experience)
  • Prior exposure to Honeywell products or similar avionics/industrial control systems (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain system architecture models using MBSE methodologies to support requirement traceability and design verification
  • Perform trade studies and gap analyses to select optimal system components and technologies
  • Lead integration testing and qualification of systems, ensuring compliance with functional safety and cybersecurity requirements
  • Facilitate design reviews and provide technical leadership to resolve interface issues across hardware, software, and mechanical domains
  • Document system designs, including interface control documents (ICDs) and verification test plans
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements in systems engineering practices
  • Support proposal development by estimating system engineering efforts and risks for new business opportunities
