Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect complex systems by translating customer requirements into technical specifications, ensuring seamless integration of hardware, software, and firmware components.
  • Implement and validate system solutions using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools like SysML and simulation environments to meet performance, safety, and reliability standards.
  • Manage system lifecycle processes, including requirements management, risk assessment, and configuration control, while adhering to industry standards such as DO-178C and ISO 26262.
  • Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting for system-level issues, developing mitigation strategies to minimize downtime and enhance system resilience.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and test engineers to conduct integration testing, verification, and validation activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing system designs for cost, scalability, and sustainability in alignment with Honeywell's innovation goals.
  • Document system architectures, interfaces, and performance metrics, providing clear reports and presentations to stakeholders and leadership.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, with a focus on complex multi-disciplinary systems (experience)
  • Proven experience with systems integration, requirements analysis, and verification in aerospace, automotive, or industrial automation domains (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with systems modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, DOORS Next, or MATLAB/Simulink (experience)
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering standards (e.g., INCOSE, ARP4754A) and safety-critical system development (experience)
  • Ability to obtain relevant security clearances or certifications as required for project work (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field (experience)
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or equivalent certification (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell's product lines or similar high-reliability systems in aerospace/building technologies (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect end-to-end system solutions by defining requirements, interfaces, and performance criteria for hardware-software integration
  • Lead system design reviews and trade studies to evaluate architecture options and select optimal solutions
  • Perform system-level simulations and modeling to predict behavior and identify potential failure modes
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams in executing integration, testing, and deployment of systems
  • Conduct failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) and hazard assessments to ensure safety and compliance
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including architecture diagrams, test plans, and user manuals
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements in systems engineering practices
