Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, testing, and repair of complex electronic avionics systems, including radar, navigation, and communication equipment, using FAA-approved procedures and tools.
  • Conduct functional testing and calibration of electronic assemblies to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and Honeywell quality standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults in multi-layer circuit boards, wiring harnesses, and integrated systems using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Document repair processes, maintain detailed records in Honeywell's CMMS system, and generate FAA-compliant certification reports.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring issues.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians on best practices for electronic repairs and safety protocols.
  • Ensure all work adheres to AS9100 quality management systems and Honeywell's safety guidelines during second-shift operations.

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification or Repairman certificate required (experience)
  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic systems in aerospace applications (experience)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams (experience)
  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Aviation Maintenance (experience)
  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) or additional avionics-specific certifications (e.g., NCATT) (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell avionics products or similar aerospace OEM systems (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic avionics systems including radar, GPS, and autopilot components using FAA-approved methods
  • Perform in-depth functional testing and calibration of circuit boards and assemblies to meet airworthiness standards
  • Analyze failure modes and implement corrective actions through root cause analysis with cross-functional teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation and certification records in compliance with FAA Part 145 regulations
  • Mentor Level 1/2 technicians and support production schedules during second-shift operations
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections on electronic test fixtures and tooling
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to ensure all repairs meet AS9100 and Honeywell specifications
