Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced functional, environmental, and performance testing on avionics and aerospace products using specialized test equipment and FAA-approved procedures.
  • Analyze test data, identify defects or anomalies, and generate comprehensive reports to support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Calibrate and maintain test fixtures, instrumentation, and automated test systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with FAA standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to troubleshoot issues and implement process improvements.
  • Conduct in-depth failure investigations, documenting findings in accordance with AS9100 and FAA regulatory requirements.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians on test methodologies, safety protocols, and best practices for high-reliability testing.
  • Support production ramp-ups by optimizing test throughput while maintaining zero-defect quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification or equivalent Level 3 repair station qualification (experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance (experience)
  • Associate's degree or higher in Electronics, Avionics, or related technical field (Bachelor's preferred) (experience)
  • Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and FAA regulatory documents (experience)
  • Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) and environmental test chambers (experience)
  • Ability to work 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM) with flexibility for overtime (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (experience)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Six Sigma Green Belt certification (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell avionics products or similar high-reliability systems (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Execute complex test protocols on electronic assemblies, including functional, burn-in, vibration, and thermal cycling tests per FAA and customer specifications
  • Perform detailed data analysis using tools like LabVIEW, MATLAB, or proprietary Honeywell software to validate product performance
  • Diagnose and repair test failures at the component level, utilizing oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers
  • Maintain accurate records in Honeywell's quality management system (QMS) and prepare FAA-compliant documentation for audits
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce test cycle times and enhance yield rates
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve production holds and support new product introductions (NPI)
  • Ensure workplace safety and compliance with OSHA, FAA, and Honeywell EHS standards during all testing activities
