Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced functional, environmental, and performance testing on aerospace components using specialized test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and automated test stations.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose failures in complex electronic systems, identifying root causes through data analysis and schematic interpretation to ensure compliance with FAA regulations.
  • Execute test procedures per engineering specifications, documenting results meticulously in quality management systems like Honeywell's proprietary tools and industry standards (e.g., AS9100).
  • Assemble, disassemble, and modify test fixtures and hardware to support prototype development and production validation.
  • Conduct environmental stress screening (ESS), vibration, thermal cycling, and EMI/EMC testing to simulate real-world flight conditions.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to provide feedback on test results, recommending design improvements for enhanced reliability and manufacturability.
  • Maintain a safe, organized 3rd shift testing environment, adhering to all safety protocols, calibration schedules, and housekeeping standards.

  • FAA-related experience or familiarity with aviation regulations and standards (e.g., FAR Part 21/145) (experience)
  • Proficiency with test equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and environmental chambers (experience)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams (experience)
  • Experience working in a production or lab environment with ISO/AS9100 quality systems (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Aviation Maintenance (experience)
  • Active FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license or Certified Test Technician credential (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell or similar aerospace OEM test processes (experience)
  • Prior 3rd shift or manufacturing experience in high-volume production (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Independently execute complex test plans and procedures for aerospace components, ensuring 100% traceability and compliance with FAA requirements
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software anomalies using advanced troubleshooting methodologies, reducing downtime and scrap rates
  • Set up and calibrate test equipment, maintaining detailed logs and calibration records to support audit readiness
  • Analyze test data using tools like LabVIEW or MATLAB to generate comprehensive reports and recommend corrective actions
  • Support production builds by performing incoming inspections, in-process testing, and final acceptance tests on avionics assemblies
  • Mentor junior technicians on best practices, safety protocols, and test methodologies during 3rd shift operations
  • Interface with engineering and quality teams to disposition non-conforming parts and implement continuous improvement initiatives
