Key Responsibilities

  • Proficiency with building automation systems (BAS) such as Niagara, BACnet, or LonWorks protocols (experience)
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel 75-100% domestically, including overnight stays (experience)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and control sequences of operation (experience)
  • Experience with DDC (Direct Digital Control) systems and field devices like VAVs, chillers, and AHUs (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Niagara N4 or Tridium certification (experience)
  • ASHRAE or CEM (Certified Energy Manager) certification (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell WEBs or Spyder controllers (experience)
  • Military veteran with technical HVAC experience (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Commission HVAC control systems by verifying wiring, programming controllers, and testing sequences to ensure optimal performance
  • Diagnose and repair faults in networked BAS using laptops, multimeters, and software tools during field service calls
  • Travel to client sites to install sensors, actuators, and gateways, integrating them into enterprise-level building management systems
  • Perform startup services, including graphics development and alarm configuration for user-friendly HMI interfaces
  • Document all activities with detailed reports, photos, and data logs for handover and warranty support
  • Train end-users and facility staff on system navigation, troubleshooting, and energy-saving features
  • Optimize systems for energy efficiency, identifying opportunities for retrofits or upgrades to reduce operational costs
