As a Junior Machine Learning Engineer focused on GenAI Modelling, you will play a pivotal role in operationalizing the Generative AI model lifecycle, building models to support top initiatives in Personal Systems, and advancing research to deliver innovative user experiences. In this role, you will help execute the AI Lab's technical strategy, adopt cutting-edge finetuning and evaluation techniques, and develop tooling for high-quality, safe models. Working closely with scientists, developers, product managers, and business partners, you will create proof-of-concept prototypes and transition technologies into production. We seek motivated juniors with a BSc or MSc in relevant fields, 0-3 years of experience, and hands-on exposure to Gen AI through projects or internships. Key Responsibilities

• Help execute the technical strategy of the AI Lab to support HP's ambitious AI roadmap
• Support application of new processes and standards for building high-quality, safe Gen AI models
• Develop tooling to support the Gen AI model lifecycle and promote best practices
• Adopt state-of-the-art Gen AI modeling techniques including finetuning and evaluation
• Develop strategic engineering proof-of-concepts in the Gen AI space
• Research and develop generative AI models for HP's Personal Systems initiatives
• Collaborate with scientists, developers, and product managers on new applications
• Work with business unit partners to create proof-of-concept prototypes
• Operationalize the Gen AI model lifecycle for product integration
• Contribute to bringing state-of-the-art research into HP's product portfolio

Required Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Data Science, or related discipline
• 0-3 years of work experience in machine learning or related fields
• Exposure to Generative AI through projects, internships, or academic work
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively and learn with agility

Preferred Qualifications

• MSc specialized in Generative AI
• Internships or projects involving Gen AI model finetuning or evaluation
• Experience with models from Hugging Face repositories
• Knowledge of C++ or C#
• Contributions to AI community (publications, patents, open-source, conferences)
• Experience in LLMs or LVMs development and deployment
