Job Description

Scenario Planning Lead – Personal Systems

Location: Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico

Department: Your Privacy

About the Role

HP’s Personal Systems business is at the forefront of innovation, delivering cutting-edge PCs and devices that empower customers worldwide. We are seeking a Scenario Planning Lead to join our Supply Planning Analytics team in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico. In this pivotal role, you will design and execute advanced scenario models that balance cost, inventory, service levels, and timing—such as lead times, consumption pacing, and qualification delays. Your work will directly support HP’s global factory network by identifying over/underutilization risks, optimizing resource efficiency, and providing actionable insights to drive agile, data-driven supply chain decisions in our technology-driven ecosystem. Key to success will be leading what-if simulations for component shortages, demand shifts, strategic buys, and supplier transitions, while quantifying trade-offs to inform both tactical operations and long-term strategy. You will build intuitive Power BI dashboards and Excel tools to model factory utilization, ROI for strategic inventory, and time-sensitive planning factors like FIFO consumption and delay impacts. Collaborating cross-functionally with Category, Procurement, Finance, and Planning teams, you will present compelling insights during S&OP and executive reviews, harmonizing best practices across HP Personal Systems, Print, and S&G to foster continuous improvement. At HP Inc., our customer-centric culture thrives on innovation and collaboration, operating in over 170 countries to create technologies that reshape how the world works. Join us to influence global supply decisions, leverage advanced analytics for factory efficiency, and contribute to a legendary environment where every voice matters and career growth is limitless. This full-time, flex workstyle position offers the chance to be part of a global laboratory of diverse perspectives solving complex challenges in personal systems supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development of what-if simulations to assess impacts of component shortages, demand shifts, strategic buys, and supplier transitions
  • Quantify trade-offs across cost, inventory, service, and timing to guide tactical and strategic supply decisions
  • Build scenarios to monitor and address factory over- or under-utilization across HP’s global manufacturing footprint
  • Enable optimal use of constrained resources including capacity, labor, and materials by aligning supply timing with demand
  • Incorporate lead times, consumption velocity (FIFO), and qualification timelines into simulation frameworks
  • Model impacts of delays, early buys, or forecast shifts on inventory health and service delivery
  • Conduct ROI modeling for strategic buys using cost of capital, obsolescence risk, and service alignment
  • Deliver critical analytics and insights to the supply planning team for operational execution and executive reviews
  • Build intuitive tools and dashboards using Power BI (DAX) and Excel (Power Query) for scalable scenario delivery
  • Collaborate with Category, Procurement, Finance, and Planning teams to align on assumptions and decision pathways
  • Present findings in compelling formats during S&OP and key leadership discussions
  • Contribute to harmonizing scenario planning processes across HP Personal Systems, Print, and S&G
