Key Responsibilities

• Drive the design of software systems across multiple platform types, including writing and executing test plans, debugging, and developing testing scripts and tools
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve software defects, performance bottlenecks, and technical issues through systematic troubleshooting
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define software system requirements and design robust architecture aligning with business objectives and technical constraints
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
• Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for subsystems including operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools
• Analyze designs and determine coding, programming, and integration activities based on project guidelines
• Execute and write testing plans, protocols, and documentation; identify and debug code issues with suggested improvements
• Participate in concept design discussions, gather system-level requirements, and provide feedback for high-performance solutions
• Improve service lifecycle from inception through deployment, operation, and refinement
• Provide support through system design consulting, software platforms development, capacity planning, and launch reviews
• Collaborate with internal and outsourced partners on project progress, issue resolution, and reliable solution development
• Develop reports, recommendations, and share knowledge to foster a culture of innovation and learning at HP

Required Qualifications

• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or any related discipline
• Typically 2-4 years of work experience in systems engineering, computer programming, or a related field
• Demonstrated competence in software systems design and integration
• Experience with operating systems installation, configuration, and maintenance
• Proficiency in debugging and resolving software defects and performance issues
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle
• Experience in multi-platform software systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Software Systems Engineer (CSSE)
• Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)
• Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field
