As a Software Systems Engineering - Technology and Program Management (SEPM) in our Singapore team, you will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust, scalable software systems and firmware for commercial notebooks. Collaborating with software developers, firmware engineers, program managers, and the system team, you will ensure seamless integration, superior performance, and reliability, driving HP's customer-centric innovation from New Product Introduction (NPI) to sustaining phases. Your role will encompass owning end-to-end deliverables for BIOS, EC, drivers, applications, and image readiness, while managing CQ Refresh schedules, ODM engagements, and cross-functional alignments for timely RTM releases. You will drive debugging, root cause analysis, and resolutions for complex software and firmware issues, prioritize scope changes like DCRs and security updates, and foster automation adoption through tools like CQ and Issues Dashboards. By governing processes with RACI models, maintaining traceability in Pulsar and SharePoint, and representing status to executives, you will uphold HP's commitment to quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Own all software and firmware deliverables across BIOS, EC, drivers, applications, and image readiness from concept to end of service for NPI and sustaining
  • Define and manage CQ Refresh software/firmware deliverables, SCT validation, and release schedules for timely Web Softpaq and RTM releases
  • Manage ODM SEPM resources, define engagement models, audit deliverables, and ensure HP quality and schedule expectations
  • Drive debugging, RCA, and resolution of SW/driver/OS/application issues; support HEPM/BIOS PM on FW/BIOS/EC/HW driver issues
  • Communicate and prioritize CQ scope changes (DCRs, BCRs, security, 3LS, etc.), negotiate options, and coordinate phase-in schedules
  • Collaborate with system managers, validation, ODMs, PMkt, and legal teams on SW/FW/drivers and regulatory deliverables
  • Support development and adoption of automation tools to enhance operational efficiency (e.g., CQ Dashboard, Issues Dashboard)
  • Drive governance, process discipline, documentation, and traceability; maintain PRL, ERD, dashboards, and trackers
  • Represent software/firmware status in system team meetings and align on qualification timelines and platform readiness
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate, Master or higher Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related engineering discipline
  • Typically 7-10 years of work experience in systems engineering, computer programming, or related field
  • Proven experience in software and firmware management for commercial notebooks across NPI and sustaining phases
  • Demonstrated competence in managing ODM resources and cross-functional teams
  • Strong background in debugging, RCA, and resolution of software/firmware issues
  • Experience with program governance, milestone tracking, and dashboard maintenance
  • Knowledge of regulatory deliverables and customer-specific requirements
  • Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial notebook systems, including BIOS, EC, drivers, and image readiness
  • Familiarity with HP's NPI processes, CQ Refresh, and Web Softpaq publication
