In this role, you will play a pivotal part in administering HP’s expansive global trademark portfolio, handling U.S. and international clearance, filing, prosecution, and maintenance. You will support HP’s innovative technology products by collaborating with marketing and business teams to ensure product naming and messaging comply with FTC guidelines and global marketing regulations. Additionally, you will conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, and partner with cross-functional teams to review marketing materials, ensuring HP’s commitment to regulatory excellence and intellectual property protection for our pioneering computer hardware and tech solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Instruct, docket, and manage trademark filings worldwide for HP's global portfolio
  • Conduct trademark assignment recordation projects and manage document flow
  • Perform trademark chain of title analysis
  • Correspond with foreign trademark agents, docket files, and maintain records
  • Prepare drafts of routine trademark office action responses for attorney review
  • Identify and manage trademark evidence of use for prosecution matters
  • Assist with trademark conflict matters including oppositions, cancellations, and domain disputes
  • Collaborate with attorneys, marketing, and business units to review product and messaging documents for compliance with FTC and other marketing laws
  • Perform moderately complex legal research using online databases and resources
  • Assist in trademark process and systems improvements to drive efficiency
  • Prepare Powers of Attorney and manage legalization processes

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)/Higher Secondary education or commensurate work experience
  • 2-4 years of work experience in paralegal services or related field, preferably with computer hardware experience
  • General computer proficiency with Windows applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to independently multi-task and take ownership of work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong team player and collaborator with business-focused and pragmatic approach
  • Adherence to company, legal, and regulatory standards with strict confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Paralegal Certification
  • College degree
