Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services powering HubSpot's Customer Journey product line
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver seamless customer experiences
  • Optimize system performance and reliability for millions of inbound marketing users worldwide
  • Architect data pipelines and APIs that enable personalized customer journeys and CRM integrations
  • Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and foster a culture of technical excellence
  • Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure 99.99% uptime
  • Experiment with new technologies to drive innovation in customer engagement features

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on backend development
  • Deep expertise in building scalable backend systems using Java, Python, or Go
  • Proven track record of designing and optimizing APIs for high-traffic applications
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
