Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services powering HubSpot's Intelligence Team features
• Develop robust data pipelines and APIs to integrate CRM data with AI-driven insights for inbound marketing
• Optimize system performance and reliability for high-traffic environments handling millions of customer interactions
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and frontend engineers to deliver customer-facing intelligence tools
• Implement secure, efficient microservices architecture using cloud-native technologies
• Drive technical innovation in real-time analytics and predictive modeling for growth-focused campaigns
• Conduct code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and ensure adherence to HubSpot's engineering best practices
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the engineering culture of continuous learning and experimentation
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in a 24/7 global SaaS platform
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align backend capabilities with HubSpot's inbound methodology and customer success goals
• Experiment with emerging technologies to enhance intelligence features like lead scoring and behavioral analytics

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on backend development
• Strong proficiency in building scalable backend systems using languages like Java, Python, or Go
• Deep experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including microservices architecture
• Proven track record of designing and optimizing databases (SQL/NoSQL) for high-volume data processing
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and real-time analytics in a CRM or marketing tech environment
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams within a fast-paced growth culture
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience shipping production code at scale

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with CRM systems like HubSpot or Salesforce
• Familiarity with inbound marketing tools, AI/ML for intelligence features, or customer data platforms
• Contributions to open-source projects or publications in backend/data engineering
• Knowledge of HubSpot's ecosystem, including APIs for marketing, sales, and service hubs
• Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring junior engineers
• Background in building intelligence or analytics features for SaaS products
