Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services that power HubSpot's CRM and inbound marketing platform
• Lead the development of high-performance APIs to support millions of daily customer interactions
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and data scientists to deliver customer-facing features
• Optimize database schemas and queries to handle petabyte-scale data for global inbound marketing campaigns
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering HubSpot's culture of growth and continuous learning
• Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure 99.99% uptime for core services
• Drive technical initiatives around microservices migration and cloud-native deployments on AWS
• Conduct code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and champion best practices in agile sprints
• Experiment with new technologies to enhance personalization and automation in CRM workflows
• Partner with sales and marketing teams to align engineering efforts with inbound growth strategies
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a high-stakes, customer-centric environment

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 4 years focused on backend development
• Strong proficiency in building scalable backend systems using languages like Java, Python, or Go
• Deep experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis)
• Proven track record of designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of CRM systems, data modeling, and high-volume data processing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with HubSpot's CRM platform or similar inbound marketing tools
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio
• Previous exposure to machine learning integrations or AI-driven features in SaaS products
• Experience in growth-oriented cultures with a focus on experimentation and rapid iteration
