Job Description

Senior Solutions Engineer

Location: Flex - London, United Kingdom

Department: Sales

About the Role

At HubSpot, we're building a world where companies grow better by treating customers like people, not data points. As a Senior Solutions Engineer in our Sales team, you'll be the technical wizard powering our inbound sales motion. You'll partner with Account Executives to architect transformative solutions using HubSpot's unified CRM platform, helping mid-market and enterprise customers scale their inbound marketing, sales, and service operations. In this high-impact role, you'll thrive in our HEART-driven culture (Humble, Empathetic, Adaptable, Remarkable, Transparent), collaborating across teams to close deals that fuel HubSpot's flywheel growth. Your days will blend deep technical expertise with customer-facing evangelism: crafting bespoke demos of Marketing Hub automation, Sales Hub sequences, and Operations Hub integrations; running POCs that prove 3x pipeline growth; and handling objections with data-backed insights into HubSpot's superiority over legacy CRMs. You'll translate business pain points into scalable HubSpot architectures, ensuring seamless handoffs to our Customer Success teams for maximum adoption and expansion. Expect to travel quarterly for key demos and INBOUND, while contributing to internal knowledge sharing that elevates our entire Solutions Engineering team. We're seeking battle-tested engineers who embody HubSpot's growth mindset—those who've shipped integrations, optimized workflows, and hit quotas in competitive SaaS landscapes. If you love geeking out on MarTech stacks, mentoring peers, and owning outcomes in a transparent, high-trust environment, join us to help more businesses grow better with HubSpot.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical expert for prospects during the sales cycle, demonstrating HubSpot's CRM, Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, and Service Hub
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to qualify leads, scope solutions, and develop customized proposals aligned with inbound marketing strategies
  • Conduct live product demos, workshops, and POCs to showcase ROI and integration capabilities with existing tech stacks
  • Design and architect scalable HubSpot implementations, including workflows, custom objects, and API integrations
  • Provide technical objection handling and competitive positioning against tools like Salesforce or Pardot
  • Support customer onboarding handoffs to Success teams, ensuring seamless adoption and upsell opportunities
  • Contribute to HubSpot's growth culture by mentoring junior Solutions Engineers and sharing best practices
  • Stay ahead of HubSpot product updates, Operations Hub innovations, and industry trends to advise customers
  • Gather customer feedback to inform product roadmap and represent voice-of-customer internally
  • Participate in industry events like INBOUND to build pipeline and evangelize HubSpot's platform
  • Achieve quarterly quotas for technical win rates, deal velocity, and customer satisfaction (CSAT)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of experience in technical sales, solutions engineering, or pre-sales engineering roles
  • Deep expertise in HubSpot CRM, inbound marketing tools, and the HubSpot ecosystem
  • Proven track record of closing complex deals in SaaS environments, ideally with $1M+ ARR
  • Strong understanding of marketing automation, sales enablement, and customer success platforms
  • Experience conducting technical demonstrations and proof-of-concept (POC) implementations
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for customer meetings, events, and HubSpot INBOUND
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • HubSpot Solutions Partner Program certification or Diamond-level partner experience
  • Previous experience working at a high-growth SaaS company like HubSpot, Salesforce, or Marketo
  • Technical background in web development, APIs, or integrations (e.g., Zapier, custom HubSpot apps)
