Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of backend services powering HubSpot's CRM and inbound marketing platform
• Architect scalable microservices to handle millions of customer interactions and data flows
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, conducting code reviews and fostering technical excellence
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend teams, and other stakeholders to deliver customer-centric features
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and security for high-availability SaaS applications
• Drive technical initiatives aligned with HubSpot's growth culture and inbound methodology
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to accelerate development velocity
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in distributed systems
• Contribute to technical roadmaps and innovation in customer data management
• Champion best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of professional software development experience in backend engineering
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or Go with experience in building scalable, high-performance systems
• Proven track record of leading small engineering teams or projects in a fast-paced environment
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB)
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and agile methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to mentor junior engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with CRM systems or SaaS platforms similar to HubSpot
• Familiarity with inbound marketing technologies and customer data platforms
• Contributions to open-source projects or publications in tech blogs
• Previous leadership role in a growth-stage SaaS company
• Knowledge of HubSpot's HEART framework (Happy, Engaged, Adopted, Retained, Transformed)
