Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of infrastructure cost optimization strategies across HubSpot's AWS environment
• Analyze cloud spend using advanced tools to identify inefficiencies and recommend actionable savings
• Collaborate with engineering teams to implement auto-scaling, rightsizing, and reserved instance strategies
• Build dashboards and reports for real-time cost visibility, integrating with HubSpot's growth analytics
• Mentor junior engineers on FinOps best practices and cost-aware development
• Drive cross-functional initiatives to align infrastructure costs with HubSpot's inbound marketing and CRM scalability goals
• Conduct quarterly cost reviews and forecast infrastructure spend for executive reporting
• Optimize Kubernetes clusters and serverless workloads to support high-volume inbound traffic
• Partner with product teams to balance performance, reliability, and cost for customer-facing features
• Champion HubSpot's HEART (Humble, Empathetic, Adaptable, Remarkable, Transparent) culture in all technical leadership
• Experiment with emerging cost-saving technologies while ensuring 99.99% uptime for CRM services

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cost optimization, or cloud financial management
• Deep expertise in AWS cost management tools (e.g., Cost Explorer, Budgets, Savings Plans) and FinOps practices
• Proven track record of leading technical teams to reduce infrastructure costs by 20%+ in large-scale environments
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, Kubernetes, and container orchestration for high-traffic SaaS platforms
• Experience with observability tools like Datadog or Prometheus for cost attribution and optimization
• Familiarity with CRM-scale data processing and inbound marketing workloads
• Excellent communication skills to influence engineering teams and executives on cost-saving initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience optimizing costs for HubSpot-like CRM and inbound marketing platforms
• FinOps Certified Practitioner or AWS FinOps certification
• Background in growth-stage SaaS companies with HEART culture alignment
• Knowledge of HubSpot's inbound methodology and customer-centric engineering
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other IaC tools for cost-efficient deployments
• MBA or advanced degree in finance with technical background
