The Lead Cloud Solutions Engineer Supports development and execution of cloud implementation strategy within organization's existing IT infrastructure. The Lead Cloud Solutions Engineer works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

The Lead Cloud Solutions Engineer Implements organization's cloud strategy from a technical perspective, including design, planning, integration, maintenance and support of cloud architecture. May work with stakeholders across organization to evaluate cloud systems and identify appropriate solutions.  Collaborates with product managers and engineers to develop specifications for new cloud based products/services, applications and solutions. Drives the roll-out of cloud management platforms, evaluates its performance and implements enhancements. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, andworks under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for Azure cloud and virtualization end-to-end architecture and IaaS, as well as PaaS and SaaS solutions such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Data Warehouse, etc. 
  • Develop and maintain a library of deployable, tested, and documented automation design scripts, processes, and procedures. 
  • Enable DevOps development activities and complex development tasks that will involve working with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes and container management systems. 
  • Provide advanced system administration (Infrastructure as Code), operational support and problem resolution for a large complex cloud computing environment in Azure 
  • Design, configure, implement and support an automated workflow for cloud and virtual environment provisioning 
  • Implement production changes during defined maintenance windows and support on call rotation 
  • Perform cloud computing and virtual environment buildouts, software deployment, maintenance and support 
  • Write and maintain documentation of relevant operating procedures and processes. 
  • Design, develop, and build the business-oriented cloud infrastructure architecture.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc.), or equivalent combination of education and experience required 
  • 5 or more years of experience in IT systems installation, operations, administration, and maintenance of virtualized servers / cloud systems 
  • Proficient knowledge of infrastructure design and components, such as servers, operating systems, networks, and storage 
  • Good consultative, communication, team player and analytical skills are a must, as you will be regularly interacting between various teams which are distributed across the US. 
  • Strong hands-on experience scripting/development skills in Shell, PowerShell, Python, Java, etc. in a corporate environment 
  • Strong Hands-on experience with: Azure DevOps and Pipelines, Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, Kubernetes, GitHub, and configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible 
  • Experience using and administering: Databricks
  • Experience using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiar with modern big data process and API based webservice architecture.  
  • Experience with architecting, implementing and maintaining highly available mission critical environments for 24x7 availability 
  • Experience working in an environment with a defined production change control process 
  • Relevant experience with configuration and implementation of IaaS, Infrastructure as code, Azure, etc. 
  • Demonstrated history of working within deadlines and ability to work well under pressure 
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$129,300 - $177,800 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
