Instrument Technician 

Huntsman’s Polyurethanes division is now looking for an Instrument Technician in Caojing Site.

 This role will:

According to the guidance from the supervisor, proceed with the assigned maintenance activities in the plant to ensure no engineering failures to interrupt production and utility supply.  

As the Technician, your responsibilities are:  

1. According to work manual/instruction and procedures, conduct routine maintenance of equipment to keep the equipment in good condition.

2. Complete daily orders and assignments by the supervisor on a priority basis, troubleshoot and repair assigned equipment.

3. Report the unsolvable unusual problems to the supervisor to ensure timely repair for smooth production.

4. Assist the supervisor in finding the design errors and potential deficiencies of equipment and make suggestions.

5. Assist the supervisor in the equipment renovation project.

6. Adhere to safety and housekeeping practices.

7. Raise the working record of the maintenance and repair of the equipment to supervisor weekly and report specific problems to supervisor every time.

8. Follow instructions and perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge / Experience / Skills Needed

1. Graduation from technical school or above in Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or others.

2. Min. 3 years’ relevant experience in chemical manufacturing company. 3. Self-driven, teamwork oriented, and work under pressure.

4. Good communications skills at an operational level as required, oral and written skills are a necessity.

5. Basic chemical process knowledge.

6. Basic oral, reading English.

7. Understand the ISO9001 standard and technical specification for ISO/TS16949

The Plants contain toxic chemicals. Equipment integrity is therefore our highest priority.

A detailed understanding of the instrument equipment & system and maintaining its integrity is of paramount importance.

The jobholder must have experience in the chemical manufacturing process model, maintenance management for process industry. The focus of the role is the application of a combination of individual & group skills, and tools & techniques, which together enable assigned instrument equipment & system to be integrity.

The job holder must show significant levels of interfacing skills which will enable assigned instrument equipment & system to be managed efficiently.

The jobholder must have an in-depth knowledge of discipline related to regulatory codes.
