Job Description:

Huntsman’s Advanced Materials division is now looking for a Packaging Engineer.

This role is an individual contributor and located in Panyu Site.

As the Packaging Engineer, your responsibilities are:  

• Develop packaging supplier to meet our quality requirement.
• Responsible for packaging material projects.
• Handle outgoing packaging improvement project.
• Ensure regulatory compliance of packaging material
• Ensure chemical compatibility for the selected package
• Management of technical packaging design changes
• Manage the resolution of packaging materials related to complaints
• Ensure long term availability of packages by collaborating with Purchasing
• Instill full optimization of packaging material portfolio (rationalization, harmonization, quantity of pkgs, simplification, user friendliness, etc.)
• Support all departments (Logistics, Marketing, Manufacturing, Purchasing, etc) when sourcing best packaging materials by providing technical expertise which involves economics, local suppliers, availability, technical knowledge, compliance, etc.
• Maintain the integrity of the Packaging Material within the Master Data

Skills and experiences required:

Education:  

Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Degree or others

Experiences:

• Proven track to solve quality problems for incoming and outgoing material.
• Good trouble shooting technique.
• Aggressive and eager to learn.
• Basic knowledge on chemical packaging & transportation regulations (IATA, IMDG, ADR) are preferred
• Familiar with manufacturing process of packaging material such as drum, pail, jerrican & corrugated box.
• MNC Quality Management experience
• Min 4 years manufacturing background
• Expert in Microsoft Office Suite:  Word, Excel spreadsheet (including graphs) and Power Point presentations (including org charts).
• Fluent in English and Chinese
