Position Summary

The I&E / Measurement Operations Technician III role at our Gillis facility in Ragley, Louisiana, is perfect for skilled technicians passionate about natural gas operations. As a Level III technician, you'll join a safety-focused team to maximize equipment reliability and availability in a dynamic oil and gas environment. This position involves troubleshooting complex instrumentation and electrical (I&E) systems, mentoring junior teammates, and contributing to operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex maintenance and operational tasks on all natural gas process-related equipment and systems, ensuring peak performance.
  • Minimize unplanned shutdowns through proactive root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions, always prioritizing safety.
  • Repair and maintain critical process control systems to support seamless operations.
  • Collaborate with project managers to define project scopes and specify instrumentation requirements for new initiatives.
  • Mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Adapt to rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to maintain 24/7 operations.

Physical and Environmental Demands

This hands-on role requires working in extreme temperatures, loud environments, and confined spaces. You'll lift up to 50 lbs individually or team-lift heavier loads, stand for extended periods, climb ladders and scaffolding with PPE, and use hand tools proficiently. Safety is our utmost priority.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED, plus at least two (2) years as an Operations Technician or similar, including one (1) year as an I&E Technician.
  • Preferred: Associate's or 2-year technical degree and two (2) years in Oil and Gas Operations Technician roles.

Skills and Other Requirements

  • Valid State Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Strong aptitude for technology and applications to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with safety as the top priority.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills.
  • Experience in gas-plant operations, compression, or liquid/gas gathering processes.
  • Background in mechanical, electrical, or maintenance fields.

Work Schedule

Expect rotating shifts such as weekends (7pm-7am or 7am-7pm), midweek 3pm-11pm, or standard Mon-Fri (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am). On-call rotations, overtime (10-12 hour shifts), and occasional travel with overnights may be required.
