Entry Level Hardware Developer Engineer

📋 Job Overview

As an Entry Level Hardware Developer Engineer at IBM, you will develop, test, and support hardware, firmware, and semiconductors for IBM's cutting-edge products including zSystems, Power Systems, Storage, and Quantum Systems. You'll work on various aspects of hardware development, from logic design to firmware architecture, contributing to innovations in microprocessors and hardware infrastructure.

📍 Location: Multiple Locations (Remote/Hybrid)

🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Logic (RTL) design and verification, physical design, and analog/IO design
  • Mechanical design, modeling and technology integration
  • Processor, component, and system characterization
  • Firmware architecture, development, and test failure analysis
  • Product quality, assurance, specification and analytics

✅ Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Optics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related majors
  • Prior (project or internship) experience in computer hardware or testing

  • At least three months of computer or electrical engineering experience of designing or manufacturing hardware products
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and architecture (FPGAs, RISC-V, ARM, MIPS)
  • Programming languages (C/C++/C#, Python, or Java)
  • Hardware description languages (VHDL/Verilog)
  • Circuit simulation tools (SPICE)
