š Job Overview
The Senior Application Architect - SAP at IBM is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP solutions to meet strategic business objectives. This role requires deep SAP expertise, broad enterprise architecture knowledge, and strong communication skills to bridge business and technology. The architect will design scalable SAP landscapes, develop integration strategies, and ensure alignment with broader IT architecture.

- Design scalable, secure, and high-performing SAP landscapes (e.g., S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP BTP) tailored to business needs
- Develop and oversee integration strategies between SAP and non-SAP systems (e.g., CRM, HR, finance platforms), ensuring seamless data flow and process continuity
- Map and optimize complete business process chains across departments (e.g., Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Hire-to-Retire)
- Collaborate with other architects to ensure SAP solutions fit within the broader IT architecture and support long-term strategic goals
- Provide architectural guidance during SAP implementations, upgrades, and migrations; support project teams with technical decisions and risk mitigation
- Ensure SAP systems meet performance benchmarks and comply with security and regulatory standards
- Stay current with SAP innovations and contribute to the organizationās SAP roadmap and digital transformation initiatives
ā Required Qualifications
- Bachelorās or Masterās degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- 8ā15 years in SAP environments, with several years in architecture or senior consulting roles
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, HCM), SAP Basis, and SAP HANA
- Deep understanding of middleware, APIs, and integration platforms (e.g., SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI, MuleSoft)
- Ability to analyze and model end-to-end business processes and translate them into SAP solutions
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities
ā Preferred Qualifications
- SAP Certified Technology Architect (e.g., SAP S/4HANA)
- SAP Certified Application Associate (various modules)
- TOGAF or other enterprise architecture certifications
- Familiarity with TOGAF, SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework, or similar methodologies
