📋 Job Overview
Join IBM's team as a Software Development Engineer focused on HashiCorp Nomad, contributing to the development and maintenance of a distributed cluster orchestrator. You will work on enhancing IBM's cloud solutions, managing the lifecycle of infrastructure and security to ensure efficiency, security, and scalability in multi-cloud and hybrid environments. This role involves working with Go, designing systems for high reliability, and engaging with the Nomad community.

🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Work on next-generation distributed systems for orchestration
- Develop novel algorithms within the context of Nomad tools
- Build and architect systems for managing large-scale global fleets of resources
- Interface directly with internal teams, users, HashiCorp customers, and the Nomad community
- Own the full lifecycle of feature development from design through testing and release
- Program in Go, learning from and contributing to a team committed to improving skills
- Be available for an on-call rotation as third tier support of the product
✅ Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of professional experience in software development
- Basic understanding of cluster orchestrators and schedulers (Borg, Kubernetes, Mesos etc)
- Experience with container technologies: Linux, CGroups, Docker, Podman, etc.
- Prior experience working in high performance or distributed systems
- Able to knowledgeably discuss design and performance tradeoffs in complex systems
- Exhibit ownership in work, including research, collaboration, communication, and feature completion

- Comfortable with low-level programming or excited to learn
- Familiar with HashiCorp/IBM products & services
