Position Summary

Sonoco is hiring IMRT Apprentice I-IV in Hartsville, SC, for a 4-year paid apprenticeship program. Train in multi-craft fields like electrical, mechanical, and robotics to become a Maintenance Reliability Technician. Earn yearly pay increases upon meeting on-the-job training competencies. Sonoco covers 100% of approved Mechatronics schooling after grants, with coursework outside work hours (20+ hours/week). Maintain a 3.0 GPA or risk program termination.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive zero injuries by supporting/leading safety initiatives, audits, and training.
• Maintain and repair production, utility, and facility equipment under supervisor direction.
• Assist maintenance team with repairs, tooling changes, and setups.
• Manage small projects for equipment upgrades or maintenance.

Required Qualifications

• Enroll and complete Associates in Mechatronics or equivalent (corporate-approved, 3.0 GPA).
• Complete all on-the-job training elements within 4 years for pay progression.
• Flexible for coursework scheduling; at least 20 hours/week outside normal hours.
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork in a manufacturing environment.
