Key Responsibilities at Lululemon

Your day-to-day as Lululemon's Legal Counsel in Japan includes:

• Legal Risk Advisory: Identify and advise on legal, commercial, and compliance risks across Japan operations.
• Lease Negotiations: Serve as key contact reviewing and negotiating leases with landlords for new store expansions.
• Labor Law Partnership: Collaborate with People & Culture and Global Employment teams for local compliance solutions.
• Contract Mastery: Draft/review commercial contracts like construction agreements, e-commerce T&Cs, privacy policies, sponsorships, vendor deals.
• Business Advisory: Provide practical advice on consumer protection, data privacy, anti-bribery, advertising, gaming laws, and sustainability claims.
• Template Development: Create and upgrade Japan-specific contract templates for efficiency.
• Brand Support: Assist Brand & Community with ambassador agreements, campaign T&Cs, and event waivers.
• Tech Initiatives: Partner with e-commerce and technology teams on digital projects.
• Strategic Support: Aid Senior Legal Counsel on key lululemon initiatives and regulatory research.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel as Lululemon In-House Legal Counsel Tokyo:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law (Japanese Bar qualification advantageous).
• Minimum 8 years PQE in multinational corporations, ideally retail/e-commerce.
• Fluent English communication; Japanese proficiency preferred.
• Strong business acumen, analytical mindset, and detail orientation.
• Collaborative team player with initiative and integrity.
