Position Summary

Sonoco is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician I-II for our Newport, TN facility. Reporting to the Plant Engineer, you will focus on proactive maintenance tasks to ensure high-quality, efficient production and timely product shipments. This full-time role involves rotating shifts (1 week 6am-2pm, 2 weeks 2pm-10pm) with required overtime, including weekends. Safety, quality, productivity, and a strong work ethic define our culture. Competitive pay ranges from $29.10-$34.63/hr, plus comprehensive benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and maintain auxiliary equipment to support production needs.
• Repair and maintain utility and facility-related equipment as directed.
• Assist and train maintenance team members on repairs, preventive maintenance (PMs), and equipment rebuilds.
• Collaborate across departments for proactive problem-solving.
• Manage small projects for equipment maintenance and upgrades.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work environment while adhering to Sonoco's quality and safety policies.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in industrial environments or military background.
• Strong troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance skills for manufacturing equipment.
• Preferred: PLC troubleshooting and industrial/motor controls experience.
• Physical ability to use mechanical lifts, ladders; kneel, bend, twist; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently on off-shifts with rotating schedules and overtime.
