Position Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician I at Sonoco's Putnam, CT facility is an entry-level role requiring certification through our Apprenticeship Program or equivalent. Starting at $29.90/hour on 1st shift (5am-1:30pm, 40 hours/week), this position focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements for industrial equipment. Gain expertise in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic systems while advancing to higher levels like IMRTech II and Sr. IMRTech.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to safety protocols, identify risks, and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Develop and execute preventive/predictive maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and precision install equipment using OEM specs.
- Read schematics, program PLCs, handle AC/DC drives, and perform precision welding.
- Collaborate on FMEA, RCCA, and document work for reliability analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
- Certified Welder and Sonoco Electrical Safety Category 2.
- 4+ years manufacturing maintenance or military technical experience.
