Position Summary
Sonoco is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician (Industrial Electromechanic) for our West Chicago, IL facility. Reporting to the Plant Engineer, you'll focus on proactive maintenance to ensure high-quality, efficient production. This night shift role (7PM-3AM) emphasizes safety, quality, productivity, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols, leading by example.
- Perform preventive, predictive maintenance, and proactive initiatives like FMEA/RCCA.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, PLCs (Allen Bradley/Siemens), VFDs, servos, and mechanical issues.
- Use CMMS for detailed work records and housekeeping standards.
- Execute precision welding, conduit/wiring, circuit design, and equipment installations.
- Assist/train team members and manage small projects.
Required Qualifications
- Industrial or military maintenance experience.
- Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting, motor controls, and electrical design.
- Physical ability: lift 50 lbs, use lifts/ladders, work off-shifts with overtime.
- Pass Category 2 electrical safe work practices.

- Manage small equipment projects
