The Intelligence Intern - Targeted Intrusion (Remote) position is a 12-week paid internship from June 1st to August 21st, ideal for penultimate-year university students graduating in 2027. Based in the United Kingdom and fully remote, this role sits within CrowdStrike's Counter Adversary Operations team, specifically the Technical Analysis Cell (TAC) Targeted Intrusion team. Here, you'll dive into researching nation-state adversary operations through reverse engineering, malware analysis, and intelligence production.
This highly technical internship combines intelligence analysis with deep-dive reverse engineering to track targeted intrusions and state-sponsored threats. You'll contribute to expanding CrowdStrike's global threat coverage, developing actionable insights, and creating finished intelligence products that give customers a decisive advantage against adversaries.
Discover, investigate, and track advanced cyber intrusions, documenting your findings meticulously. Enhance CrowdStrike's understanding of intrusion tools and malware by performing reverse engineering, including unpacking, code reconstruction, and logic analysis. Develop custom tools to automate malware reverse engineering and threat actor tracking. Create host-based and network-based signatures for large-scale threat hunting, detection, and monitoring.
Produce high-quality threat intelligence reports tailored for diverse audiences, including executives and technical teams. Provide actionable mitigation and detection guidance. Collaborate across CrowdStrike Intelligence teams and beyond to coordinate adversary tracking, support incident response, and inform mitigation strategies.
To thrive in this role, you must be actively enrolled in your penultimate year of a Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field university program, targeting a 2027 graduation. Proficiency with reverse engineering tools like disassemblers, decompilers, and debuggers is required, along with hands-on experience in processes such as malware unpacking and code logic reconstruction. Strong knowledge of programming and scripting, particularly Python, is essential.
You'll need the ability to communicate complex technical and non-technical concepts clearly in written, verbal, and graphical formats. Exceptional problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset are non-negotiable.
Stand out with experience interpreting raw network data, developing network signatures, custom protocol decoders, or decryption tools. Familiarity with targeted intrusions, nation-state adversary tracking, or an intelligence background will give you an edge. We're open to talented malware researchers or reverse engineers eager to rapidly upskill in these areas.
As an Intelligence Intern, enjoy market-leading compensation with equity awards, paid holidays (including your birthday), and professional development opportunities like workshops, tech talks, and the Executive Speaker Series. Receive continuous support from assigned mentors across the company.
Participate in companywide initiatives such as FalconFIT wellness programs, Employee Assistance Programs, and volunteer opportunities.
