Role Overview

The IT Resiliency Engineer at Cardinal Health plays a pivotal role in architecting and implementing robust availability, disaster recovery, and backup/recovery services. Based in Bonifacio Global City-Taguig, Philippines, this full-time position focuses on cloud, hybrid-cloud, and on-premise technologies. You'll lead automation efforts, recovery scripts, and high-availability solutions to ensure critical systems remain continuously available, secure, and hardened against disruptions. Ideal for platform engineers passionate about distributed systems and resiliency patterns in healthcare IT.

Key Responsibilities

As an IT Resiliency Engineer, your core duties include recommending resiliency solutions through assessments and data gathering in tools like ServiceNow and SQL databases. You'll research, analyze, and document technology architectures, interdependencies, networking, and firewall requirements. Lead implementations using automation, distributed computing, cloud operations, and hybrid environments. Manage, review, and approve resiliency plans, collaborate with project teams on risk identification and remediation, and execute availability and disaster recovery testing to uphold enterprise standards.

Technical Leadership

Drive the development of failover scripts and automated capabilities, ensuring seamless operations across AWS, GCP, Azure, or private clouds like vCloud and OpenStack. Your expertise in data replication, network failover strategies, and application designs (DNS, load balancers) will safeguard Cardinal Health's global infrastructure.

Qualifications & Requirements

Preferred qualifications include strong knowledge or certification in AWS, GCP, or Azure, plus recent Python programming experience. Essential skills encompass data management across locations (replication, eventual consistency), network failover, and platform engineering in Unix, Windows, SAN, NAS, and networking. Familiarity with private cloud technologies, disaster recovery testing, high-availability patterns, agile methodologies, and data-driven automation (Puppet, Ansible) is highly valued. A BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.

Soft Skills
