JOB SUMMARY
As a Principal Engineer you will have developed expertise in a particular field of engineering or within a particular sector. You will have to lead design teams through full product development and into production. As Principal engineering lead, you will be expected to demonstrate a level of expertise in a particular area that matches or exceeds the expertise of our customers. You will require providing the technical assessment and competencies needed during RFQ or Plan phase and oversee design progressions during product developments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Meet the requirements of Lead Design Engineer in your respective expertise
• Will represent Jabil Design Engineering in technical customer discussions / meetings.
• Work with Project Managers in the RFQ process.
• Provides technical input to identify and solve project risks that may affect overall project plans and schedules.
• Be expected to gain the development and utilization of processes for the product design.
• Mentoring to all engineering staff
• Stay abreast of the latest technology and techniques to provide technical proposals for the product designs that are competitive and cost effective.
• Lead the development and implementation of platform and product architectures in collaboration with senior technical staff.
• Guide and oversee the development of system component requirements, interfaces, and specifications necessary to the integrity of architecture.
• Writes system spec and technical documentation.
• Manages product designs and documentation at the system level.
• Perform independent research and engineering studies.
• Lead remote development teams.
• Effectively consult on multiple functional teams in parallel.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Jon Experience

• Minimum of 13-15 years related to PC/IPC/NB and server system developments or min 10 years of server system development to NPI.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as the project/system design lead

Language

• Fluent read/write and verb with English and Mandarin.
• Ability to host the global interlock meeting with fluent verbs.

Debug Skill

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in issue triage.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables to the root cause analysis of issues.
• Ability to lead functional engineers to quickly identify root cause and corrective action from MFG issues or field returned issues.
• Ability to summarize and report issue status.

Technical Deliverables

• Technical consulter and coordinator of system development.
• Technical proposal of RFQ/RFI/RFP.
• System power consumption.
• Design review of PCB Gerber-out, MECH hard tooling, cable routing, and thermal solution.
• Issue triage and system debug.
• Technical documentation at system level.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s degree in computer or electronic engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
