What You’ll Do

• Lead and enhance IBM Sterling DOM and Order Management applications that drive JCPenney’s digital commerce engine.
• Support and extend IBM Sterling OMS (v10) modules, including Inventory, Supply Collaboration, and Reverse Logistics.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deploy new features end-to-end.
• Build microservices-based architectures integrated with event-driven systems, APIs, and streaming platforms.
• Configure and optimize Sterling components — agents, queues, participant models, and database extensions.
• Conduct unit testing, performance tuning, and code reviews to ensure scalability, reliability, and high performance.
• Champion DevOps best practices for proactive monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement.

 

What You’ll Bring

• 7+ years of experience in Order Management or enterprise fulfillment systems.
• Strong Java/J2EE development skills (4+ years), with solid expertise in SQL, Oracle, XML, and XSLT.
• Hands-on experience with IBM Sterling OMS v10 and related architecture.
• Drop-Ship Fulfillment experience (2+ years).
• Proven record of leading at least one end-to-end OMS implementation.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, and agile development environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills — able to translate complex technical ideas into clear business outcomes.
• A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for performance, quality, and scalability.

 

Bonus Points For

• Experience with IBM Cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
• Knowledge of event streaming technologies such as Kafka or TIBCO.
• Exposure to DevOps toolchains and CI/CD pipelines.
