The Candidate:

We are seeking an exceptional design director to assume leadership of our Thailand interiors projects. This strategic role drives organizational growth, operational excellence, and design innovation while establishing our market position as the premier interior design practice in the region.

 

Key Responsibilities

As Design Director, you will serve as mentor and manager of the interiors team, providing leadership, clear guidance, and regular feedback to ensure exceptional results across all projects. You will take a hands-on approach to creative design while maintaining strategic oversight of departmental operations and project delivery. You will work closely with the Head of Design Build to develop and deliver the design portion of turnkey interior fit-out projects.

 

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of interior design experience, combining Design & Build delivery model expertise with proven leadership capabilities. You must possess excellent communication skills paired with creative and dynamic flair that drives innovative design solutions.

Duties & responsibilities of Interior Design Director

·         Maintains involvement and ensures quality and cost control in all phases of interior fit-out projects and their management.

·         Serves as a primary contact with clients, consultants and public agencies

·         Maintains a strong presence in professional organizations

·         Works directly with marketing and procurement to develop major business initiatives

·         Evaluates the progress on projects and vetting project design and financial goals

·         Work closely with the partners-in-charge and interior design and design build leads

  • Through professional leadership, assisting in raising the standard of knowledge of staff engaged on the project.

  • Develop projects with international design standards for delivery of high quality spaces.

 Qualifications/Experience 

  • Technical ability is important but it’s nothing without passion! It's your passion that will set you head and shoulders above the rest and will drive you towards success in your career with JLL (we hold this in high regard!)

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field.

·         10+ years of experience in Design & Build and Design Consultancy for Corporate commercial or governmental interiors

  • Experience in gathering and defining design requirements with requesting customers and preparing alternative solutions ranging from conceptual design to final design within established parameters

  • Experience with managing and monitoring architecture and engineering (A&E) firms and construction firms for multiple projects during the design and construction phases and handling contract close out

  • Experience with a variety of interior renovation projects

  • Experience in interacting with all levels of corporate and contractor personnel

  • Advance computer design skill. Ability to use Revit, AutoCad, Sketch Up and Adobe / Microsoft suites.

  • Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development.

  • Ability to work well in a multi-cultural, multi lingual team environment and obtain a security clearance

·         National Council of Architectural Review Boards (NCARG) Architect License, National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Certification, EIT Certification, or Professional Project Manager Certification preferred
