Electrician – JLL

What this job involves:
Join JLL as an Electrician supporting Data Center operations. In this role, you'll play an essential part in maintaining and servicing electrical systems and equipment needed for safe, reliable facility operations. Your contributions help ensure our buildings remain operational and our clients’ mission-critical sites perform optimally. This is a hands-on opportunity to develop your technical skills and grow your career within a dynamic team.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance and urgent repair work orders based on daily, weekly, monthly, and annual facility requirements to ensure optimal building performance.

  • Conduct systematic facility inspections and monitoring rounds to assess equipment conditions, detect potential problems early, and maintain continuous operational reliability.

  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems encompassing lighting networks, motor controls, distribution panels, and associated wiring infrastructure throughout the facility.

  • Utilize technical drawings and electrical schematics to guide accurate installation procedures and effective maintenance strategies for building systems.

  • Fabricate and install electrical conduit systems through precise measuring, cutting, threading, and assembly techniques to support various electrical applications.

  • Test and adjust electrical control systems and building automation technologies to verify proper functionality and optimize performance parameters.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including work logs, inspection reports, and safety records while communicating effectively with team members and clients to deliver exceptional service standards that comply with all safety regulations and JLL quality requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent education along with a valid Tennessee driver's license are required for this position.

  • At least two years of hands-on experience in commercial electrical work or building maintenance is essential to demonstrate competency in the field.

  • Strong technical skills include the ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical diagrams for various building systems and installations.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of multiple voltage electrical systems including 24V, 48V, 120V, and 480V applications is necessary for safe and effective work performance.

  • Proficiency with specialized equipment such as Variable Frequency Drives, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, generators, Building Automation Systems, and lighting control systems is expected.

  • Physical capabilities must include conduit fabrication skills, the ability to lift fifty pounds, and comfort performing various physical tasks including standing, walking, and kneeling throughout the workday.

  • Professional competencies encompass basic facility management software proficiency, Microsoft Office applications knowledge, strong safety awareness, attention to detail, and the flexibility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trade school coursework or completion of an electrical apprenticeship program.

  • Certifications such as Universal CFC, OSHA, or other electrical credentials.

  • Experience with commercial HVAC and plumbing systems.

  • Exposure to critical facility environments (UPS, generators, etc.).

  • Experience with digital control systems (fire alarm, access control, CCTV).

  • Prior work in data center or similar commercial environments.

Other details:

  • Location: Onsite

  • Work Shift: M-F 3:00 pm - midnight

  • Salary/ Comp: Hourly $30.00-$35.00
