What this job involves:

As a Handyman at JLL, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the quality and functionality of our commercial properties through skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail. This position encompasses a diverse range of maintenance and repair responsibilities, from interior and exterior painting to plumbing repairs, locksmith services, and general building maintenance. You'll work closely with our operations team to ensure buildings operate efficiently while providing exceptional tenant service through prompt response to maintenance requests. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Prepare, prime, and paint building interior and exterior surfaces using various techniques including epoxy applications

  • Maintain and repair door hardware including locks, locking mechanisms, closers, and access control systems

  • Perform plumbing maintenance and repairs on toilets, urinals, lavatories, flush valves, water fountains, sinks, drains, and water heaters

  • Complete general office maintenance tasks such as hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, and repairing furniture systems

  • Replace and maintain light bulbs and basic electrical components throughout the facility

  • Assist operations team with building equipment maintenance and repair projects

  • Respond to tenant service requests including furniture moves, minor repairs, and workspace modifications

  • Perform minor lawn irrigation system repairs and maintenance as needed

  • Handle special assignments including locksmith work, tenant services, and specialized cleaning projects

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant maintenance and repair experience

  • Level 2 or above painting experience with proficiency in epoxy paint applications

  • General knowledge of electrical and power systems for basic troubleshooting and repairs

  • Knowledge of office furniture systems and installation procedures

  • Strong oral and written communication skills for reporting and tenant interactions

  • Ability to lift and move office furniture, machinery, and equipment safely

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and collaborative work style

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in controlled or specialized work environments

  • Knowledge of plumbing systems and minor repair techniques

  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems for record keeping

  • Experience with hazardous materials handling and proper disposal procedures

  • Basic locksmith skills or willingness to develop expertise in security hardware

  • Landscaping or irrigation system maintenance experience

  • Certification in specialized painting techniques or surface preparation methods
