What this job involves:

JLL is hiring a Maintenance Operator for a prominent client who is a global leader in high speed connectivity. Their Ottawa operations, in Kanata, boast a showcase campus which includes a flagship R&D centre.

The Maintenance Operator will be part of the facilities operations time to ensure office spaces are safe and comfortable for employees and guests.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• General interior maintenance – hang pictures, install keyboard trays, repair office furniture systems

• Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested

• Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment and respond as needed to emergencies

• Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations

• Maintain and complete documentation for fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, building alarm contacts, and other building systems.

• Maintain and repair minor plumbing components

• Respond effectively to all emergencies

• Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them

• Complies with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials

• Maintains a clean and safe work environment

• Other assigned operational tasks as may be typically expected of the Maintenance Technician role

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of applicable working experience in general office and furniture repair and maintenance,

• Working knowledge of HVAC, building automation, system controls and fire alarm systems is an asset

• Experience in office moves and furniture systems (Herman Miller) is an asset

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

50,000.00 – 60,000.00 CAD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
