Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, qualified plumber to join our team, providing high-quality plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair services across residential and commercial properties. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, excellent customer service, and adherence to Irish building regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Installation and Maintenance Install, maintain, and repair water supply systems, drainage systems, and heating installations including boilers, radiators, and underfloor heating systems. Fit and connect pipes, joints, and fittings using appropriate materials such as copper, PVC, and polyethylene. Install bathroom suites, kitchen fixtures, and water heating appliances to industry standards.

Repair and Troubleshooting Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues including blocked drains, leaking pipes, faulty taps, and heating system malfunctions. Respond to emergency call-outs promptly and efficiently. Conduct system testing and pressure testing to ensure proper functionality and safety.

Compliance and Documentation Ensure all work complies with Irish building regulations, health and safety standards, and relevant codes of practice. Complete necessary certification and documentation for installations. Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.

Customer Service Provide professional advice to customers on plumbing solutions and maintenance requirements. Deliver excellent customer service while working in domestic and commercial environments. Communicate clearly regarding work requirements, timelines, and costs.

Essential Requirements

Qualifications and Certification Completed apprenticeship in plumbing or equivalent qualification recognized by SOLAS. Current certification for gas work if applicable (RGI registration preferred). Valid Safe Pass certification and manual handling training.

Experience and Skills Minimum 2-3 years' experience in residential and commercial plumbing. Proficiency with modern plumbing tools and equipment. Strong knowledge of Irish building regulations and plumbing standards. Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.

Personal Attributes Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Physical fitness for demanding work environments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Desirable Requirements

Experience with renewable energy systems such as solar thermal and heat pumps. Commercial experience in large-scale projects. Clean full driving licence. Additional trade certifications or specializations.
