What this opportunity involves:

We are currently seeking a Paralegal to join us in Melbourne or Sydney. You will be a vital team member in supporting a client with a national retail and industrial portfolio.

This position is available as either a full-time or part-time / job share opportunity (15 to 22.5 hours per week).

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct, negotiate, certify, and execute documents relating to lease transactions while complying with client requirements and policies
• Manage external solicitor fixed fee scope and control legal negotiation costs within budget parameters
• Update and maintain transaction database and soft copy files ensuring complete accuracy and timely data updates
• Certify documents for client execution, confirming accuracy, compliance with instructions, and alignment with client policies
• Handle lease interpretations, general disputes, and other ad hoc legal matters as delegated
• Build relationships with major landlord contacts and facilitate negotiation of national precedent documents
• Support reporting, analysis, and attend meetings while maintaining risk and governance standards
• Brainstorm and implement process improvements, policy updates, and template enhancements to drive innovation

Key Skills & Requirements

• Legal or property qualifications and/or experience within a legal firm or retail 'landlord/tenant' organisation
• Demonstrated understanding of leases, contracts, and Retail Legislation gained in property or legal industry
• Exceptional attention to detail with proven ability to maintain accurate data and work under tight deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and providing superior customer service
• Contract and lease interpretation skills combined with proactive problem-solving capabilities
