Project Lead - Civil and Interiors Works

Department: Project and Development Services
Location: Mumbai

Reports to: Senior Project Manager / Director of Project Management

Position Overview:

JLL is seeking an experienced Project Lead to manage and deliver civil and interior construction projects for our diverse client portfolio. This role requires a dynamic professional who can oversee multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality delivery, budget adherence, and client satisfaction across commercial, corporate, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Delivery Lead end-to-end project delivery for civil works and interior fit-out projects. Coordinate all project phases from design development through construction completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards. Manage project schedules, critical path activities, and milestone achievements while proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.

Client & Stakeholder Management Serve as primary client contact throughout project lifecycle, maintaining regular communication and managing expectations. Facilitate coordination meetings with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution. Present project updates, change orders, and recommendations to client leadership teams and internal stakeholders.

Team Leadership & Coordination Lead multidisciplinary project teams including architects, engineers, contractors, and specialty consultants. Coordinate with JLL's internal teams including facilities management, leasing, and property management to ensure integrated service delivery. Mentor junior project staff and provide technical guidance on complex project challenges.

Financial & Contract Management Develop and monitor project budgets, cash flows, and cost forecasting. Review and approve contractor invoices, change orders, and project expenditures. Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors while ensuring compliance with JLL procurement policies and client requirements.

Quality Assurance & Compliance Conduct regular site inspections and quality reviews to ensure work meets design specifications and industry standards. Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental requirements. Coordinate permit applications and regulatory approvals as required.

Required Qualification:

Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field. Minimum 5-7 years of progressive project management experience in commercial construction, with specific expertise in both civil works and interior fit-out projects. PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials preferred would be added advantage.

Technical Expertise Proficiency in project management software including MS Project, Primavera, and construction scheduling tools. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building systems, and interior design implementation. Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and permit processes. Experience with sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes advantageous.

Core Competencies Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to C-level executives and diverse stakeholder groups.

Leadership & Business Skills Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships. Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen with understanding of construction economics and market dynamics. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within JLL's integrated service delivery model.
