Senior Director, Sourcing & Procurement

What this job involves:

Will be responsible for leading the sourcing & procurement function for the regions/ accounts under the purview of the role. Support the regions/ accounts initiatives and sourcing requirements and directly mirror the Head S&P West Asia who promulgates the organization's strategic sourcing and procurement function, driving value through supplier relationship management, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.

Providing strategic direction and being the critical link between the executive leadership and operational procurement teams, you shall provide strategic direction while ensuring tactical execution excellence, while ensuring compliance, sustainability, and operational excellence.

You shall work closely with C-level executives, regional leadership teams, account management professionals, key stakeholders and supplier partners to deliver measurable value that supports organizational growth and profitability objectives to ensure procurement strategies align with broader organizational objectives.

Also, provide strategic oversight for regional variations in procurement approaches while maintaining consistency in core methodologies and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities expected to be delivered by this regional leadership role:

Strategic Leadership

Responsible for Procurement Governance Leadership, Procurement Governance Leadership

- Support implementing a comprehensive sourcing and procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals, market conditions, and business requirements. Lead strategic planning processes and suggest procurement policies and procedures that drive operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.

- Provide comprehensive governance oversight to ensure all procurement policies and procedures are consistently followed across accounts and client sites. Establish monitoring mechanisms and performance dashboards that track compliance adherence and identify areas requiring intervention or process improvement.

Supplier Relationship Management

Responsible for Strategic Partnership Development, Vendor Management Excellence, Supplier Diversity and Sustainability, Category Management

- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers through enterprise-level contract negotiations and comprehensive service level agreements. Establish robust supplier performance management frameworks that include regular business reviews, performance scorecards, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure consistent delivery against commitments.

- Drive comprehensive vendor management programs that optimize supplier portfolios while maintaining competitive market positioning. Work collaboratively with vendor partners to identify cost optimization opportunities and implement savings initiatives that contribute to organizational financial objectives.

- Ensure organizational supplier diversity and sustainable procurement goals are achieved through targeted programs and strategic initiatives. Provide ongoing support and resources to promote diverse supplier participation while implementing environmental and social responsibility criteria in supplier selection processes.

- Oversee assigned category management across all spend areas, developing category strategies that optimize total cost of ownership while maintaining quality standards. Lead market analysis and supplier evaluation processes to identify best-in-class partners.

Contract and Performance Management

Responsible for Contract Lifecycle Management, Supplier Performance Optimization, Cost Optimization & Implementation, Regulatory Compliance Management, Risk Mitigation Strategy

- Oversee comprehensive contract management processes from initial sourcing through negotiation, implementation, performance monitoring, and renewal or termination. Ensure contracts include appropriate terms for performance measurement, compliance requirements, and risk management while optimizing total cost of ownership.

- Establish and maintain supplier performance management systems that track key performance indicators, conduct regular performance reviews, and implement improvement plans when necessary. Develop performance benchmarking methodologies that drive continuous supplier capability enhancement.

- Ensure savings and cost optimization strategies are systematically implemented across all procurement categories and supplier relationships. Develop and maintain cost modeling frameworks that identify optimization opportunities while preserving service quality and supplier relationship stability.

- Ensure implementation and maintenance of sustainability frameworks while guaranteeing compliance with all relevant regulations across operating regions. Develop compliance monitoring systems that proactively identify potential issues and implement corrective measures before they impact business operations.

- Provide strategic oversight to identify, assess, and mitigate procurement-related challenges or issues before they escalate. Develop comprehensive risk management frameworks that address supplier financial stability, geopolitical considerations, market volatility, and operational continuity requirements.

Leadership and Team Development

Responsible for Team Management and Development, Culture Development, Employee Welfare Leadership, Process Improvement

- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of procurement professionals across multiple accounts. Create and discuss with Head S&P West Asia, comprehensive career development opportunities, performance management, and professional growth pathways that enhance individual capabilities while strengthening overall organizational procurement competency.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence throughout the Regional Procurement Team. Implement best practice sharing mechanisms, professional development programs, and recognition systems that promote high performance standards and collaborative working relationships.

- Provide comprehensive leadership oversight to ensure team member welfare is prioritized and supported. Implement employee engagement initiatives, work-life balance programs, and professional development opportunities that enhance job satisfaction while maintaining high performance standards.

- Drive procurement process optimization and automation initiatives. Lead implementation of procurement technologies and systems that enhance efficiency and visibility.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Responsible for Stakeholder Partnership Management, Strategic Account Support, Cross-Functional Effectiveness-

- Support regional stakeholders including Global Account Directors (GADs), Country Heads, and Sourcing Heads in implementing comprehensive business strategies according to country-specific guidelines while ensuring consistent governance standards. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across organizational levels and functional areas.

- Develop and implement strategies in collaboration with Account Directors to support their achievement of organizational goals. Provide procurement expertise and resources that enable account teams to deliver enhanced value to clients while maintaining profitability and operational efficiency.

- Lead cross-functional collaboration initiatives that ensure procurement activities are effectively integrated with finance, operations, legal, and business unit objectives. Serve as the primary procurement subject matter expert for strategic initiatives and organizational transformation projects.

 

Key Performance & Success Metrics:

Financial Performance Metrics- Support the Head of Sourcing & Procurement in achieving overall financial savings targets for the S&P function. Implementation of cost optimization strategies, Budget variance management and forecast accuracy

Operational Excellence Metrics - Supplier performance ratings and scorecard achievements, Procurement process cycle time optimization, Contract compliance rates across all agreements, Risk mitigation effectiveness and incident prevention

Strategic Leadership Metrics- Supplier diversity program goal achievement, Sustainability framework implementation success, Team development and professional growth outcomes, Cross-functional collaboration effectiveness ratings

Governance and Compliance Metrics- Policy adherence rates across all accounts and regions, Regulatory compliance audit results, Risk assessment and mitigation implementation, Process standardization achievement across territories

 

Work Location:

You will be working from Regional Office, located at Bangalore and travelling to the accounts as and when required by the Management. You are expected to co-ordinate with stakeholders and team members working from different geographic locations and time zones.

Qualifications & Expertise

You need to have a Degree in Sourcing & Procurement, preferably MBA with 15+ years of work experience inclusive of Execution and Advisory roles played in the past.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field

• Master's degree strongly preferred (MBA, MS Supply Chain Management, or equivalent)

• Professional procurement certifications (CPSM, CPPM, MCIPS) highly valued

From an expertise perspective, you need to have atleast 7+ years in senior leadership roles managing complex procurement teams and operations and must have demonstrated success in large-scale procurement transformations and organizational change management

Excellent in communication & Articulation skills (English)- both written and spoken

Must have played the role of Advisor and Internal Auditor in the past.

Other qualifications that will earn you brownie points will include

• Proficient Knowledge in functional area of Sourcing, Vendor Management & Strategic Thinking

• Knowledge in Operations of Facility Management, Financial Modelling & Change Management
